Going Crazy?

I got some chocolate/sweets for my birthday, and I counted them out so I could calculate how many calories per sweet. This doesn't make me sound mental right now, until I tell you there were 151 sweets in a big tub of smarties , 45 in the minstrels and 44 in the fruit pastilles.

This might only apply to people in the UK, but heres what I found out:

Calories Per sweet:
Smartie - 6 cal
Fruit Pastille - 12 cal
Galaxy Minstrel - 15 cal

Then I calculated how many of each I could have to make 50 calories (not exact, rounded down to whole sweets)

50 cal = 8 smarties
50 cal = 4 fruit pastilles
50 cal = 3 minstrels

I think I'm going to have to eat them, so I'll take one to school each day to get rid of, that means they should be gone by thursday. I'm going to keep the fruit pastilles and let myself eat 50 calories worth of them each day because they have no fat in them. I'll probably eat them just before I go to bed. I could have 100 cals worth on my higher calorie days.

Now who thinks I am slightly mental?

    I don't!
I've done this with a bag of M&M's on more than one occassion. It took me forever to work myself out of that effort.

I also measure my bread slices when I make eggies in a basket, so I know just how many calories are in the average square inch, and how many I cut out when I make the hole in the center of the bread. And then I add between 5-10 calories back, just in case. so if I cut out enough of my 70 calorie bread to make it reasonably 50, I add back on 5-10, so I see it as being 50 or 60 calories instead.

You're not nuts. You're just one of us, dear.

lol i do the same thing. i do it with chocolate chips mostly , or if my son has some candy i look up the cal info right away so that i know if i should eat half or 1/4 of it. my boyfriend looks at me like IM crazy...cant blame him, i usually end up in the kitchen with the big butcher knife trying to divide up peanut butter cups.haha. i like to think its more "better safe than sorry" mentality rather than crazy. nothing wrong with being cautious right?
    stay strong

Hi not sure if you know, but this text is impossible to read unless you highlight it. You appear to have black text on a black background. A real shame because this information is great :)
