How to break A Plateau

I've been at 114 (give or take about 1lb) for 2 weeks now! I've been exercising and eating ok but I can't get below 114 for any more than 1 day!

I researched ways to break a plateau:

  1. ZigZag calories
  2. Do more Strength Training
  3. Change my workout
  4. Let your muscles rest/recover between intense workouts
  5. Make sure you're getting enough sleep

Sunday Post :) 114lb

Back down to 114lb (8st 2lb). It's hardly a huge achievement, but I'm getting there slowly which hopefully means it'll be easier to maintain when I reach my goal weight.

I've been eating arount 1200 kcal each day and just started running about 5 times each week. I'm gradually increasing the speed/distance of my jogs so hopefully by next month I'll be able to burn quite a lot of calories.

I've noticed that I'm bigger than when I was at this weight last time (I think?). At my smallest I had a 25.5" waist and 35.5" hips and I was around 7st 12lb (110lb), atm I've got a 26.5" waist and 37.5" hips. On the bright side, I've been doing a lot of ab exercises so my stomach is reasonably flat.

Sorry I went AWOL :(

After months of binging then restricting I'm back.

I now weigh 8st 4 and I want to get back down to 110 and then 105. But I realise now that I don't have the willpower to eat 400-800 cals every day for more than 3 weeks without going into major binge mode. So I'm basically just eating 1000-1200ish and slowly losing the weight. I will continue to eat like this until september. I'll be reading all your blogs and commenting on them, I really need to catch up!

8st again :) Finally.

After a week of binging, and then two weeks of restricting I am finally back down to 8st! I changing the way I restrict, insteading of having set limits for each day (which, looking back were kind of high), I just eat as little as possible. On school days I skip breakfast + lunch and only have dinner and whatever else is forced down me, then at the weekends I have a small breakfast + lunch then whatever parents make for dinner. On average I'd say I'm having about 900 cals a day. I've noticed I feel sooo tired though, I keep forgetting stuff. It's probably cuz I was eating like 2500 cals a day in my binge week.

Anyway, I've reviewed my last plan and here are (yet again) my new goals:

110lb - 11th march
108lb- 18th march
105lb - 10th April
100lb - ??
95 - ??

Day #14 --

Stuffed my face friday & yesterday. This morning I was 8st 2, I think it was mostly water weight, so hopefully by tomorrow or maybe the next day I'll be back under 8st.

Day #11

I found my tape measure! I thought I'd lost it but then it just 'appeared' in my room the other day. My latest measurements are Waist - 26.5" Hips - 36". I managed to fast until I got home from school, but then I kind of failed. Well I suppose it wasn't really that bad, but here's what I ate:

Food:
3 Rich tea biscuits - 120 cal
Mums cooking - 400 cal
Apple pie & custard - 400 cal

Total - 920 cal
So, only a bit above my limit.

Tomorrow is a sleepover, which means MILLIONS of calories. I'll try not to eat much, but I probably won't be able to resist. I'll try and burn 500 cals tomorrow morning (I'll have to do it in 2 sessions), but If I don't manage it I'll do at least 250.

Hmm. Well I went over my limit today as my mother forced a cupcake down my throat, but never mind, I'll only eat dinner tomorrow. My plan for tomorrow is to crumble some cereal & milk into a bowl for breakfast (to make it look like I've eaten) and then pretend to be ill at lunch so that nobody gets suspicious when I don't buy anything. I'll have to eat dinner, and I've no idea what that will be, but if moms cooking it will probably be reasonably healthy.

No of binge-free days: 9

This is usually the week where I give up, not this time. My mum thinks 'I need to eat more', so I'm sure she'll try and sabotage my plans, but that won't stop me. I will be thin, I will be a size 6/8 (US 2-4). Next week will test me, 10 consecutive days with no school, my mother constantly trying to feed me things that I do not want or need. I will exercise EVERYDAY, burning at least 200 cals. I will be skinny.

Todays food:
Weetabix + Yoghurt - 200 cal
Mango + 1/4 of a sandwich - 100 cal
Tomato Spaghetti - 600
Total - 900

Good, I didn't go over my limit today, let's see if tomorrow works as well. I was just wondering, does not having breakfast actually affect weight loss, or just make you want to eat more? Just wondering as that's the easiest meal for me to avoid when I'm not at school.

Day #8 --

I can honestly say that I could have easily fallen asleep in school today, didn't really do any proper work, every lesson we just kind of sat there. Went a little over my limit, but not much. On the bright side, my 28 skinny jeans are too big now(well, they fit OK on the legs, but there is about an inch loose around my waist)! I think that 26 probably still wouldn't fit me, but I'm close! I bought a size 8 (US 4) t-shirt the other day; it fits me quite well but it is from new look which means that it is closer to a size 10 in every other shop. I can feel my school trousers are losser on my legs and my collar bones stick out more than they used to, but my hips/thighs and my upper arms are still FAT.

Day #7 ---

Went to the movies, I surprised myself by not eating or drinking anything during the film, I bought some mints but didn't eat any of them. Ended up only eating half the amount of sweets I said I would yesterday, so that was good. Did my 200cal of exercise this morning.

Food intake:
Weetabix and a banana - 200cal
Sandwich - 400cal
Soup- 220cal

Yoghurt - 95cal
Biscuit + midget gems - 135cal

Total - 1050
Limit - 1100



I'm thinking I'm going to need to change my plan for the next two weeks as there is no school the week after next because its half term, also there is an inset day on friday. Not going to school makes it impossible to not be forced to eat lunch, which means I will not be able to go below 1000 cals at the lowest. Also, I'm having a sleepover, which they might as well call an eat-over. This means at least 1500 cals. So If I want to keep an average of 1100 cals per day for the six weeks of my plan I'll have to change it around a bit, here's my new plan:

Food Will Not Control Me

In my last post I talked about getting out of dinner? Well I didn't manage to get out of it, but as soon as I was on my own I through it all in the bin and just ate the salad.

Todays intake:
1 weetabix - 100 cal
Lemon cake - 300 cal
Beans on toast - 400
Midget Gems - 240 cal
Total - 1040
Limit - 1100

Kept under my limit, so today was successful, I haven't actually eaten the midget gems yet, but I probably will. That kind of defeats my 'food will not control me' but oh well :)

Lists. (& lists OF lists)

I noticed that all I ever write in my post is:

  1. What exercise I've done
  2. How much I've (over)eaten
  3. How much I weigh

So from this post on I want to start actually blogging about something, It will probably bore the hell out of you, but It will distract me from food and make me feel better. So anyways, I just feel like making random lists because all I can think of is the 712calorie bag of sweets in my draw. So far today I've had 900 cals, and I still need to be forced dinner, and then I will probably give in to the sweets. I need to find excuses to get out of eating dinner, so far all I have is 'i'll eat my sweets instead' or 'I'm not hungry'. Just counted out a bag of Tesco midget gems. The total amount of calories in one bag is 712, there are 94 sweets in a bag, so that means there are 8 (well 7.5 something, but just to be safe) calories per sweet.

Lists.

Reasons to be thin:

  • Clothes will actually look good on you
  • You can buy clothes from any shop without having to think 'am I too fat to wear this?'
  • Your BF can pick you up without struggling
  • You will feel better about yourself
  • Nobody finds fat attractive
  • You'll be - 'that fit thin one' as opposed 'that fat retard'
  • Food makes you miserable as soon as you've finished eating it

Day #8 -- Weigh In.

My Week #1 weigh in was this morning, I've put it as 112lb (8st). However, this morning & when I got home from school (after eating lunch) I was 110lb (7st 12), I checked on a different scale just to make sure and those were correct, but I'm going to wait until tomorrow or sunday to check that i'm still there. lol.

Todays Food:
Breakfast - 25g Shreddies, no milk - 100 cal
Lunch - Jelly Babies, Sandwiches & jelly - 500 cal
Planned dinner - Ham & Tomato omelette (no cheese) - I'm guessing maybe 400? Definitely no more than 500, if anyone has an Idea please leave a comment :)

No exercise today, well apart from walking briskly round school for 1/2 hour. My plan is to exercise at least 200 cals 5 times a week.

Hm. Not much to say really, felt quite ill so it was easy enough not to eat much, didn't do any exercise but I honestly felt too ill /didn't have the energy. The lowest weight I saw today was 110, the highest was 112, which is encouraging, but probably not accurate.

Bit of keish + beans - 400 cal.

Day #5 --- So far, so good.

Today went fine. Major argument with my 'friend' who I hate, its so funny :) So anyway, I've done my 200 kcal on the dance mat, so that's good for today. I'm thinking of swapping tomorrow with the 1400cal day this week as I have cake that I cant avoid (lol. it's my mums birthday). So I figured that if I eat 100 for breakfast and 100 for lunch it should be fine =D So here's todays intake:

Tea - Jacket potato w/ beans + ham (600)

Day #4

Today went pretty well :). I didn't eat over my limit, no snacking, and on top of that I didn't really want to eat anything. I didn't have time to exercise after school, but we were running around the school grounds for about half an hour in sport so I should have burned around 200 cals anyway, which is the same as I would have on the dance mat, so that was fine. At dinner my parents put two slices of thick white bread next to my plate, I didn't eat them, I didn't even want to. Then I was offered a yoghurty/puddingy thing, I didn't eat that either =D

Food Log:
Breakfast = 2 Weetabix with semi-skimmed milk(200)
Lunch = Ham sandwich with no crusts + grapes (300)
Dinner = Vegetable (with loads of potato in it) soup (max 600)

Total - 1100
NET total - 900

New Plan - I'll stick to it this time

I want to be 105lbs before april (so I can get a size UK 8 (US 4) outfit to wear on my birthday!). In total I need to lose about 9lbs, I have made a 6 week plan to get thin I'm going to Zig-Zag the calories so I (hopefully) won't get stuck at 8st again. Here's my plan:

Day #3

Like yesterday, I've done 300cals on the dance mat, and 50 sit ups. When I first got up I weighed 8st 1 (113lbs), and then after exercise 7st 13.5lb (111.5lbs), so it looks like this time next week I should be at my 8st goal =D

Food Eaten:
Breakfast - Nothing
Lunch - Soup and 1 slice bread (300)
Dinner - Chicken and Vegetable Noodle Stir Fry (600)

Total: 900

Not too bad, now let's just see if I can keep it up

Day #2

This morning I did about 40 minutes on the dance mat, which it said burnt 300cals, I probably did more like 200, maybe 250, but it's still something. I just did 30 sit ups, my stomach is quite flat anyway, so I think that's enough, I'll try and do 35-40 tomorrow.


Food: (eek, messed up a lot)

Breakfast - Weetabix (200cal)
Lunch - Biscuit Bar (100 cal)
Tea - Salad + quiche (300)
Sweets - 660!!!!!!!!!

Total: 1260!!!

It's still under my initial limit, but I ate a LOT of sugar, they were low fat, but still. Fail, I'll just do better tomorrow :)

I'm back... Again.

I am back after my 3 weeks of epic fail. Before I had my 2-day-binge-turned-into-3-weeks I was 7st 13, now I am 8st 3. Gained 4lbs. It's weird though, my hip bones stick out way more than they used to, but I am 4lbs heavier? It can't be muscle because I have done next to no exercise.

I find that I can diet successfully for about 2 weeks, and then I binge for weeks. I'm going to try maybe eating a little more, but exercising more too. Here's my plan:

28 days (I heard thats how long it takes to form a habit?)

Week 1 - 1400 calories (per day, god I'm a pig.)
Week 2 - 1300 calories
Week 3 - 1200 calories
Week 4 - 1100 calories

This won't get me down to my goal (unless there's some miracle), but hopefully It will get me back under 8st (maybe 7st 12?). I'm going to aim to be 105lbs by the beginning of april, I'll post a more detailed thing soon, just going to catch up on peoples blogs =D

Major Binge Alert.

Today & yesterday = FAILURE.

Yesterday I must have eaten around 2000, and its only 10:15 AM and I've already eaten like 1000. I'll try and salvage whats left of today, but I just need to make sure I exercise & eat less next week.

I think the main cause was that I've been at 8st (112lb) for about 5 days. Goodbye, I will not weigh myself until friday when hopefully I Will be 7st 13 (111lb). Until then I'll probably just read, maybe the occasional food post.

My goal for the end of january is 108lbs, that means (assuming I'm 111lb tomorrow morning) I have to lose 3lbs in 3 weeks, which I know I can do! I really need to start running again, the weathers just been so bad I haven't been able to go. I've been doing sit ups, but apart from that and walking to/around school I'm not exercising at all. I'll start running as soon as the ice clears =D Until then, well as long as I'm losing weight not gaining it will be OK =D

...Day #6...

Day #6 is over! I went back up to 112 (8stone) this morning, which I thought would happen but I was still disappointed. I'm hoping to be back at 7st 13lb (111lb) tomorrow morning.

I think I went a little over 800 today because of the snow we got sent home so I couldn't skip lunch, but only by around 60 cals, I've eaten less than my limit enough so far to make up for it.

Food: (800 cal limit)

1 Weetabix w/ skimmed milk- 100 cal
1 brown roll - 170 cal
soup - 110 cal
Beans on toast - 370 cal

Total - 750 cals

Wow, I thought I'd had like 900, I can't remember what I must have added up wrong to get that? Lol.

I really CBA to go to school tomorrow so I'm wishing for snow/ice overnight to make school close =D I don't think I'd be lucky enough for that to happen todays in a row, but I can dream right?

Day #5 ~

Stepped on the scale this morning to find..... 7 stone 13 pounds! (Thats 111lbs). Finally! I am actually below 8 stone. I checked it twice (xmas flashback. lol) and it wasn't a fluke! I actually am 111lbs!! So todays food intake:

Goal intake/limit - 1200
Weetabix - 200 cal
Galaxy - 40 cal
1/2 chicken roll - 200 cal (at most, probably more like 150)
Spaghetti Bolegnese - 550?
Lollipop - 60
Total intake - 1050

I managed to give away most of my galaxy! I'm pleased with myself because that's like my favourite. I had one square and gave the other 5 to my friends. They of course, scoffed it down. I will probably have 2 starbursts, so that will bring my intake up to 1090, which is still below my limit. Seen as this was my High-cal day I will probably go up to 112lbs in the morning (hopefully not, but I'm preparing myself.. lol), but tomorrow is my low cal day so hopefully I'll get to 111.25lb on thursday or something like that :) Good luck everyone, 2010 rocks so far.

I <3 Starburst. LOL

So I was sitting here on the laptop, thinking about eating a starburst. I looked up the number of calories in 1 peice - 20 cals. Not to bad considering I was 200 cals under my limit today. I have a 240 cal galaxy chocolate bar hiding in my school bag, I'm not sure whether I should have 2 blocks tonight and 3 tomorrow, or just scoff it all tomorrow. I suppose if I eat it at break I could probably give at least 2/3 blocks to my friends, that would bring it down to 160/120 cals. I think thats what I'll do seen as it is my 1200 cal day tomorrow.

It's been said that it might snow tonight which would be AWESOME! especially if it snowed heavy enough for school to close! But that has only happened once, but it was last year so if we're lucky... The only thing is if we have the day off school on wednesday that will make it almost impossible to do an 800 cal day.

Day 4 is almost over!!

I was still 113, but only just, Hopefully I'll be about 112.8 tomorrow. So let's see if I finished today with an acceptable amount of calories -

Weetabix - 200 cals .
Special K bar - 90 cals.
Chicken/Pasta salad - 550 cals (at most)

Total - 840 cals =D

Managed to avoid dinner so that brings my total to 840 cals out of my 1100 cal limit, so today was successful! Tomorrow is a 1200 cal day so that will be easy, then wednesday is an 800 cal day, which shouldn't be too bad. I know I eat like twice as much as most of you, but it's about what I can do without people noticing, which would be awful.

Just going to catch up on everyones blogs, we can do this!

Last day of freedom...

School Tomorrow. In some ways I'm looking forward to it and in some ways I really hate it. The Good thing is it means It is WAY easier to restrict my calories, I'm smaller now than when I last went to school, I am more active during the day, I get to see my friends (who I secretly hope have gained weight over christmas, well not my Best friend but...). The bad thing is well, it's obvious really - work & homework, getting up a 6:15 every morning.

On the bright side, my hip bones are sticking out more than they were when I was 120lbs, I can faintly see my ribs when I'm standing normally, they stick out when I suck in and stuff like that, my elbows stick out more, so quite a good month really.

It's a 1000 calorie day so it shouldn't be too hard, I've done my set of 25 sit ups (obviously I will increase the amount each week)but I'm not running today.

I can't wait until spring now. It means that the field will be dry so I can run as much as I want, hopefully I will have reached my goal by then and it's my birthday. Every time I feel like binging I just think about how I look now and how I want to look and the craving just disappears.

Sorry for that really long post, just to let you know I read everyone's blogs I can, and you keep me motivated and inspire me to carry on.

Day #3 Food

Todays Limit - 1000


Food Eaten -

1 weetabix w/ skimmed milk - 100 cal
Soup - 200 cal
Beef stew - 600 cal
4 fruit pastilles - 50 cal

Total - 950 cal

Day 3 was successful, I think tommorow I'll start putting how many consecutive days I've gone without exceeding my limits, so today would be 3. It would be a miracle if I could be 8st tomorrow, or even 8st 0.5lb (112/112.5lb). Only 7lbs to reach my goal. I will do it this time.

Exercise/Workout Plan & Thinspo

I want to be able to WIN the race on 'sports day' (lmfao?) not come 3rd. This should be easy enough considering I WILL be 10lbs lighter, and fitter from the work that puts me there. Last I finished it in about 8-9 minutes. I was only about 5-10 seconds behind the person that came second but way behind the person that came 1st.

That means that last year I was running at about 11.25 kilometres an hour, I want to run it in 6 minutes this year which means I will need to run at 15km an hour which is about 9 miles per hour. That is 4 minutes per km. That probably seems slow to some of you, but it's a good goal for me.

Anyway, back to the plan:

Week 1 - Run at least 4 times, at most 6 minutes per km(I measure it like instead of km/h because I'm using Nike+).
- Do 25 sit ups every day

Week 2 - Run at least 4 times, at most 5 minutes per km
- Do 30 sit ups every day

Week 3 - Run at least 4 times, at most 4m 45s per km
- Do 35 sit ups every day

Week 4 - Run at least 5 times, at most 4m 30s per km
- Do 40 sit ups per day

Week 5 - Run at least 5 times, at most 4m 30s per km
Do 45 sit ups per day

Week 6 - Run at least 5 times, at most 4m 20s per km
- Do 50 sit ups per day

Week 7 - Run at least 5 times, at most 4m 15s per km
- Do 50 sit ups per day

Week 8 - Run at least 5 times, at most 4m 10s per km
- Do 50 sit ups per day
- 3 x per week - Burn at least 100 calories (eg, jump rope, wii fit boxing, etc...)

Week 9 - Run at least 5 times, at most 4m 5s per km
- Do 50 sit ups per day
- 3 x per week - Burn at least 100 calories

Week 10 - Run at least 5 times, at most 4m per km
- Do 50 sit ups per day
- 4x per week - burn at least 100 calories

Week 11 - Run at least 5 times, burning at least 150 calories
- Do 50 sit ups per day
- 4x per week - burn at least 200 calories

Day #2 :)

Day 2/77 of my diet, I will keep going for the 77 days even if I reach 105 after like 50. This morning I was 114lbs (+1lb) from yesterday, but that is to be expected as it was water weight after a fast. Food Today:

Vegetable soup - 200 cal
1 slice brown bread - 100 cal
Tuna Pasta bake - 550 cal (at most, probably more like 400-500)

Total intake = 850 cal
This means I can have 100 cals worth of fruit pastilles (yay, I am addicted)
So once I add on 8 fruit pastilles = 100 cal

I went for a run earlier, ran for about 1km then walked - 100 cal
NET total - 850 cal

God this is like my 3rd post today. I promise I will shut up when I go back to school =D lol.



Todays Food:



Weetabix - 130 cal

4 fruit pastilles - 50 cal

Southern Fried chicken - 500

Mashed potato - 250

Going Crazy?

I got some chocolate/sweets for my birthday, and I counted them out so I could calculate how many calories per sweet. This doesn't make me sound mental right now, until I tell you there were 151 sweets in a big tub of smarties , 45 in the minstrels and 44 in the fruit pastilles.

This might only apply to people in the UK, but heres what I found out:

Calories Per sweet:
Smartie - 6 cal
Fruit Pastille - 12 cal
Galaxy Minstrel - 15 cal

Then I calculated how many of each I could have to make 50 calories (not exact, rounded down to whole sweets)

50 cal = 8 smarties
50 cal = 4 fruit pastilles
50 cal = 3 minstrels

I think I'm going to have to eat them, so I'll take one to school each day to get rid of, that means they should be gone by thursday. I'm going to keep the fruit pastilles and let myself eat 50 calories worth of them each day because they have no fat in them. I'll probably eat them just before I go to bed. I could have 100 cals worth on my higher calorie days.

Now who thinks I am slightly mental?

Day #1

Happy New Year!!!!


So I managed to fast yesterday, I didn't even drink anything. I haven't broken it yet, but I know I won't get away with fasting again so I'm just going to try and only eat 600ish calories.

I went on the Wii fit this morning, I am down 2lbs since tuesday! I currently weigh 8st 1lb!!(113lbs) This is my lowest weight since December 2008! I have 8 pounds to lose, which is less than I thought I would. I originally thought I would be at least 8st 5(117), probably more like 8st 8(120), but I managed to lose 3lbs this week. My current goal is to be 105lbs by March 20th. I don't think I will need that long, but that just means that if I fail one week I wont give up because I'll have time to sort it out.

I'm going to break my fast with some weetabix, then some fruit for lunch and finally whatever my mum makes for dinner (I'll try and get something low-cal.)

Today is a 1000 cal. day, so I should be able to keep under that easy enough.
